Esther Batten

Esther Irene Batten, 89, of Dover and formerly of Freeport, passed away August 26, 2024 in Country Club Retirement Campus.

Born in Polk, Nebraska on September 1, 1934, she was the daughter of the late David Reck and Elizabeth Irene (Dean) Reck. 

After graduating from high school, Esther spent her life as a homemaker caring for her late husband, Edward J. Batten, and her children. 

Esther is survived by her children, Carolynn (Jeff) Lurndahl, Beth Bertini, Steve Batten, and Tina (Dennis) Engstrom; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband who passed away on March 27, 1995; she was preceded in passing by her sons-in-law, Ross Worrell and Pete Bertini.

No public visitation or services are scheduled.
