Erika Ida Wills, age 84, of Uhrichsville, died Wednesday, June 10, 2026, following a period of declining health while in Hennis Care Center, Bolivar.
Born in Sankt Lambrecht, Austria on August 15, 1941, Erika was raised by her mother Adolfine “Fanny” Oberweger Mihevc and step-father, Stanislas Mihevc.
Erika immigrated to the United States at age 18 and a decade later, in 1969, became a United States Citizen.
In her younger years, Erika owned an operated a children’s clothing store in Uhrichsville, The Lad & Lassie Shop, and later worked as a nurse’s aide at New Dawn Retirement Center at Dover.
Erika was Catholic by faith and enjoyed caring for her yard, bird watching, knitting, crocheting, and traveling with her late husband, Kenny. While traveling, one of their favorite activities as a couple was sampling local wines from the area's vineyards and wineries.
Surviving are her sons, Gregory (Holly) Edwards of Carrollton, Ohio and Mark Edwards of Canton, Ohio; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her companion of 15 years, Robert Trammel of Roswell, Ohio.
In addition to her mother, father, and step-father, Erika was preceded in death by her husband, William “Kenny” Wills.
In keeping with Erika’s wishes, she will be cremated with her urn being placed in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
