Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Smith

Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Smith was born on October 3, 1935 in Canton, Ohio, and died March 8, 2026.

Betty was preceded in death by her father Earl Baker, mother Katherine Bair, brother Gene Baker, husband John J. Smith, son Jeffrey J. Smith and an infant son.

Betty is survived by her children John J. Smith, Jr. of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, Julie (Tim) Barnett of Stow, Ohio, Rev. Jill A. Smith of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, grandchildren John Pickens, Jordan (Cole) Dickerson, Timothy (Sarah) Barnett and Matthew (Tia) Barnett, great-grandchildren Jeremiah, Caroline and Henry Dickerson.

Betty devoted her life to raising her four children. She enjoyed traveling with John in their RV, especially their trips to Alaska and Mexico. Betty was a reader and a pet-lover. Most recently she spent time with her dog Josie. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church in North Canton.

Services will be held Friday, March 13, 2026 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Trinity Baptist Church. Betty will be laid to rest at North Canton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 1211 East Maple St., North Canton, Ohio 44720.
