Elizabeth Housler

Elizabeth Jane Housler, age 81, formerly of Midvale, died Monday, July 24, 2023, in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

Born on February 12, 1942, in Grafton, West Virginia, Elizabeth was a daughter of the late John Henry and Pauline Ardith (Bennett) Shingleton.

Elizabeth was a simple lady who loved to spend time with her family.  In her free time, she played Bingo and loved to go shopping at Wal-Mart.

She is survived by her husband Gary Housler whom she married on July 1, 1989; her special niece, Tina (Ronald, Jr.) Hawkinberry; great nieces and nephews, Rhonda (John) Fellows, Eugene (Samantha Baker) Hawkinberry, Alcinda (Richard) Sniviley, Ashley (Tyler) Boitnott, Ronald (Britany) Hawkinberry, and Britany (Kyle) Stage; great-great nieces and nephews, John Fellows, Keilee Fellows, Hailey Fellows, Maximus Fellows, Asia Hawkinberry, Skyler Stricker, Trever Stricker, Richard Sniviley, Chevy Sniviley, Ashton Boitnott, Gabriel Boitnott, Kenna Boitnott, Aubrielle Hawkinberry, and Cloey Thompson; and K-9 Friend, Harley.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Curry; and brothers, John Shingleton and Kenneth Shingleton.

The family will greet guests on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 12:00 - 1:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  Rev. Mark Unrue will lead a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville.
