Elizabeth Jane Cardani, age 83, of New Philadelphia, is dancing with the Lord after leaving her earthly home, Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Born in Goshen Township, on December 18, 1940, Elizabeth was a daughter of the late Edgar Emerson and Margaret Elizabeth Eckert Warner.
She was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School on May 30, 1962, she married Robert John Cardani of Wainwright. Together the couple raised five sons and shared in 40 years of marriage prior to Bob’s passing on July 24, 2002.
For many years, Elizabeth owned and operated Finishing Touch Drapery and worked as a seamstress. In her younger years, she was also an employee of Miller’s Studio at New Philadelphia.
Elizabeth was deeply devoted to her faith, actively participating in Christian organizations and congregations throughout her life. Her abiding love for her family was equally evident. Beyond her Christian and family commitments, Elizabeth found joy in the simple pleasures of cooking, baking, canning, making golf ball size buckeyes for her sons and spending time in her flower gardens. She will be most fondly remembered by her grandchildren for teaching them to make homemade noodles and ravioli, passing down those cherished recipes. Aside from her loved ones, Elizabeth's canine companion, Joy, was a source of great affection and care.
Surviving are her sons, Lorne (Sherry) Cardani of New Philadelphia, Bruce Cardani of Wainwright, Scott (Jessica) Cardani of Virginia, Brian (Lisa) Cardani of New Philadelphia, and Daniel Cardani of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren, Mathew (Lyndee), Mackenzie, Caleb, Adger, Kaiah, Abryana, Byanca, Christian, Lily, Preston, Christopher (Monica), Tyler, Oliver, Lucy, and Heidi; her seven great-grandchildren, Remee, Ridge, Elliona, Spencer, Serenitee, Ariella, and Mylah; a sister, Carol Warner of New Philadelphia; and a sister-in-law, Paula Warner of New Philadelphia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brothers, John Warner, Bob Warner, Richard Warner and Tom Warner, and her sisters, Mary Johnson and Dorothy Storrie.
In keeping with Elizabeth’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Private inurnment will be held in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
For the past year Elizabeth has been wonderfully and attentively cared for by the staff of Park Village Southside at New Philadelphia and the family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff. The family wishes to extend an additional thank you to Traditions Health Hospice for their support and care for Elizabeth and the family.
