Obituary

Earl Lahmers, age 89, of Dover, passed away October 7, 2026 at Park Village Assisted Living at Dover following a period of declining health.

Born in Dover on April 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Albert and Ella (Slater) Lahmers, Sr.

After high school graduation Earl served in the US Army from 1956-1958 as a mechanic. He was stationed in Friedberg, Germany. He traveled extensively while there, visiting cities in Italy, France, England, and Denmark. He then worked for Nickles’ Bakery before he began a career as a press operator for the Times Reporter Newspaper, where he worked for over 30 years.

On September 13, 1959 he married Pat Charnock and they delighted in 47 years of marriage before her passing in 2007. They enjoyed raising a family, traveling, being with their grandchildren, and spending time with extended family. Earl also managed to squeeze in time for fishing and tinkering in his garage. Using his quick wit, Earl never missed an opportunity to spread joy and humor through a good joke or a snappy comeback. After the passing of his wife, Pat, he married Grace Burrier. Earl and Grace celebrated 15 years of marriage before her passing.

Earl is survived by his daughters, Robin (Gary) Petrullo of Dover and Lisa (Pete) Lengyel of Dover; grandchildren, Ciana (Jill) Strawn, Gannon (Emerald) Petrullo, Carrigan Lengyel, and Noah Lengyel; a great-granddaughter, Dinara Strawn and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by his siblings.

The family will greet guests on Monday, October 12, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral will be led by Pastor Louise Worsham in the funeral home beginning at 6:00 PM

The family wishes to thank the staff at Park Village for the excellent care that they provided to Earl. They would also like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their care as well. Memorial contributions may be directed to Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation, 10810 E. 45th St., Suite 300, Tulsa, OK 74146.
