Earl Junior Hoagland

Earl Junior Hoagland, age 75, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully, on Friday, October 27, 2023, while under the care of Community Hospice in The Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born February 17, 1948, at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, Ohio, Earl was a son of the late Marion Earl and Wilma Jeanette (Naylor) Hoagland.

On May 30, 1971, he married Arlene Rennicker and together they enjoyed 49 years of marriage before her passing in January of 2021.

Earl was a heavy equipment operator for over 42 years.  He worked in the coal mining industry.  He was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving in Vietnam.  In his spare time Earl had a passion for fishing.

He is survived by his children, Tina Hoagland of New Philadelphia, and Larry (Barb) Hoagland of Beach City; grandchildren, Mackenzie Hoagland, Kristyn Hoagland, Keith (Nicole) Hoagland, and Chance Swihart; great-granddaughter, Rylie Hoagland; great-grandson, Tucker Tam; and special friends, Kari (Brandon) Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis Hoagland, Randy Hoagland, Albert Hoagland, and Jim Hoagland; and sister, Debbie Hoagland.

In keeping with Earl’s wishes there are no services scheduled.  Cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory.

The family requests that memorials in Earl’s name be given to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
