Milarcik, Sr.

Donald Andrew Milarcik, Sr., age 92, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully while in the care of Aultman Woodlawn at Canton, following a period of declining health on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
Born in Fairpoint, Ohio, on May 1, 1934, Don was a son of the late Andrew John and Mary Frances Smolovich Milarcik.
After graduating from New Philadelphia High School, Don was drafted into the United States Army. During his service, he was stationed in Germany as part of the Communication Corps.
Don entered the workforce as a Union Electrician working for the IBEW Local 540, Canton, Ohio. In 1984, he relocated to Naples, Florida, where he owned and operated Gulf Shore Electric with his sons. He later began working for his son, Don, in his development business. From 2010 – 2013, he split his time between New Philadelphia and Florida until making Tuscarawas County his full-time home. In his retirement years, Don enjoyed working odd jobs for family and friends and was a regular at Five Waters Golf Course, becoming the oldest member of his golf league still enjoying the game at the age of 91.
He is survived by his wife, the former Beverly Jones whom he married on February 12, 1956, their three children; Julie (Bill) Martin of New Philadelphia, Donald A. (Cherie) Milarcik, Jr. of Naples, Florida, David E. (Kathy) Milarcik of Girard, Ohio and; his grandchildren, Bill (Mandy) Martin, and Brian (Samantha) Martin Ashley (Alex) Licznerszki, Andrea (fiancé, Jacob Ranville) Milarcik, Madison (Josh) Root; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Emma, Ellie, and Evie; two sisters, Charlotte Anderson and Cynthia Maleski, a sister-in-law, Opal Milarcik; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew J. “Atch” Milarcik, Jr., and Michael A. Milarcik
In keeping with Don’s wishes, there will be no public services. A private graveside service will be held in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
