Donald Farnsworth

Donald E. Farnsworth, age 92, of Bolivar and formerly of Mineral City died peacefully, Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia. 

Born in Mineral City, Ohio on December 15, 1931, he was a son of the late Marion and Nellie Burke Farnsworth. Following his graduation from the former Mineral City High School, he married the former Gladys Ewing on April 8, 1950. 

Surviving are his wife of 74 years, Gladys; his children, Robert Farnsworth, Michael (Melinda) Farnsworth, Mark Farnsworth, Lynn (Rod) Burton, and Susan (Stephen) Yoder; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen (Gale) Duebner, Ruth (William) Elliott, and Doris (Dick) Quillin. 

The family will greet guests one hour prior to services on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 10 – 11 AM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Rev. Kenneth Yoder will lead a service celebrating Don’s life at 11 AM. Burial will follow in German Cemetery at Mineral City. 

Memorial contributions in Don’s name may be directed to Ohio’s Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
