Diana Lynn Smith

Diana Lynn Smith, 80 of New Philadelphia, OH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 202,5 at Cleveland Clinic Akron General following a period of declining health.

Born April 6, 1945, in Dover, Ohio. She was the oldest daughter of Virginia Lawrence and the late Russell Lawrence.

Diana was a beautiful person who had an unmatched sense of humor. You couldn’t help but laugh when she shared stories or a joke. She was known to be a gentle person whose peaceful demeanor and beautiful sweet smile brightened any room when she was around. Her most admirable traits, however, were her integrity and honesty. Diana strived to do the right in all situations.

She loved her animals, which she lovingly cared for throughout her life. Her cat, Charlie, her dogs, Sarge and Bubba, grand-dogs, Hershey and Riley, and grand-cat, Cuddles, were all very special parts of her life.

Diana loved shopping, country music, and going to concerts with her friends, but what was most important to her was her relationship with Jesus Christ. She enjoyed going to church, reading her Bible, and talking with people at church.

She is survived by her son Steve (Evelyn) Albright; daughter, Debbie (Dana) Potter; her sisters, Sara Kron, Kathy (Scott) Devol, Cindy (Marty) Hoenes; her grandchildren, Nick (Grace) Albright, Jake (Holly) Albright, her great-grandchildren, Jaxson Albright, Abigail Albright, Owen Albright, Alison Albright as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her father, Diana was preceded in death by her first husband, Jacob Albright, and second husband, Tom Smith.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions in Diana’s name may be directed to your local Humane Society in honor of Diana.
