In loving memory of Debra Ann Carlisle; a beacon of selfless love and unwavering dedication— who passed away on September 11, 2025 from a brief illness at the age of 68. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose impact will be felt for generations.
Born on December 14, 1956, Deb lived a life defined by generosity and a deep commitment to others. She shared a profound and enduring love with her husband, Jim, for 42 years. Their marriage was a testament to the power of unwavering support, forming a strong foundation for their shared life.
As a mother, Deb was the heart of their home. She poured her energy into children’s well-being and happiness, teaching them the values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love, and her presence was a constant source of comfort and strength.
Deb’s greatest joy was found in her role as "Gaga" to her grandchild, Jaxx. She cherished every moment with him, creating lasting memories and quiet moments of shared affection. Her boundless love for him was a beautiful reflection of the joy and warmth she brought to everyone’s lives, but it was in her time with Jaxx that her heart truly found its home.
For 30 years, Deb was a beloved teacher at Dover City Schools. She touched the lives of countless students, seeing the potential in each one and guiding them with patience and wisdom. She didn’t just teach subjects; she taught life lessons, leaving a lasting mark on her students and fellow educators.
Her life was a testament to the power of a selfless spirit. She consistently put the needs of others before her own, always offering a listening ear, a helping hand, and a kind word. Deb will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her loving husband, James E. Carlisle; her children, Ben Carlisle (fiancé, Andrea Harless), Courtney (Kaleb) Tarleton; and her grandchild Jaxx Tarleton. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Ren; her mother, Eileen Ren; and her brother, Robert Ren.
A graveside service will be held in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM.
