Deanna L. Sweaney

Deanna Lou Sweaney, 70, passed away on August 17, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic following a health complication.

Deanna was born January 23, 1956, in Dover, Ohio, to the late Adelaide Groff Sweaney and Dale Sweaney.

She worked as a shipping coordinator with Sterilite in Navarre for 24 years prior to her retirement.

Deanna enjoyed the simple things in life, including country drives, visits to Tuscora Park, word search puzzles, and playing cards. She especially treasured time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sisters, Alexis (Leonard Sr.) Boley of Carrollton, Tracy Meese of Dover, and Georgia Sweaney of New Philadelphia; several nieces and nephews; her very close cousin and friend, Judy Roberts and Sharon Cummins; and her best friend, Adrian Garber.

In addition to her parents, Adelaide and Dale Sweaney, Deanna was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Michael Meese; and Georgia’s fiancé, David Eckert.

A graveside service in the Dover Burial Park will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rachel Gray officiating.
