Davina Rice

Davina Ann Rice, age 68, of Ashland, died Sunday, October 8, 2023, while in UH Samaritan Hospital at Ashland, following a period of declining health. She had been a longtime resident of The Good Shepherd Campus in Ashland.

Born on June 5, 1955, in Delaware, Ohio, Davina was the daughter of the late David E. and Gloria A. Terakedis Thomas, and graduated from Berea High School.

For a handful of years, Davina was employed as a cashier for Goodwill in Ashland. She enjoyed a good laugh, singing, dancing, and loved animals. She never turned down the opportunity to watch a classic Western Movie or television show and she also loved being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Dawn Barnes of Maryland and Christopher Thomas of Ashland; her grandchildren, Daysha and Maniah Barnes, and Claire and Violet Thomas; and her siblings, David (Judi) Thomas of Rochester, Michigan, and Denise (Ron) Treat of Louisville, Kentucky. Completing the family are her nieces and nephews, Heather Thomas, Evan (Emma) Thomas, Sara Treat, and Brandon Treat, and a great-niece, Briella Thomas.

A memorial service will take place in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on October 28, 2023 beginning at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
