Daniel Edward Fantin, age 77, of Roswell, died Thursday, January 25, 2024, in his residence following an apparent heart attack.
Born on September 21, 1946, in the family home at Roswell, he and his twin brother were one of eight children born to the late John F. and Emma Louise (Visintainer) Fantin.
Danny was a 1964 graduate of the former Midvale High School. Following his graduation, Danny began working for the former Warner & Swasey company prior to starting a 38-year career with Iron Workers Local 550 at Canton and retired in 2010.
Danny was an avid hunter, fisher, and coon dog enthusiast who also enjoyed mushroom hunting, caring for his dogs, and spending time with friends at the local Coon Hunting Clubs. More than anything, Danny was a family man. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, attending their school activities, and helping anyone at a moment’s notice.
Danny will be deeply missed by his companion of more than three decades, Sharon Stutler of Roswell; his children, Ed (Jennifer) Fantin of Carrollton and Mary Jo (Ben) Corder of Uhrichsville; his step-children, Lisa Stutler, Troy Stutler, Tonya Stutler, and Destiny Laizure; his grandchildren, Frankie Fantin, Dylan Fantin, Audreanne (Nate) Shedron, Alexandre(Brian) Stein, and Anthony (Daphne) Poorman; his step-grandchildren, Naveah Hayhurst, and Sarah Shear; and his great-grandchildren, Sadie Snedeker, Aubree and Gabrielle Shedron, and Owen and Tate Stein.
Completing the family are his sister, Norma Fantin and his twin brother, Louis (Ruth) Fantin; his sister-in-law, Shelby Fantin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother and father, Dan was preceded in death by his siblings, Louise Patrick, Frank Fantin, Jack Fantine, John Fantin, and Victor Fantin.
The family will greet guests on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 4:00 -7:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Father Jeff Coning will lead a service in the funeral home’s chapel on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
