Obituary

Dale E. Loveday, age 55, of Stone Creek, died peacefully, early Monday, August 24, 2026, while under the care of Ohio’s Hospice, in his residence, following a battle with cancer.

A son of the late Robert Lewis and Vivian Kohler Loveday, Dale was born in Dover, on February 1, 1971.

Dale graduated from New Philadelphia High School and attended Buckeye Career Center where he studied to be an Ag and Diesel Mechanic.

For over 30 years he has owned and operated Loveday Farms in Stone Creek, where he farmed feed corn, soy beans, wheat, hay and also raised beef cattle. Farming has always been a piece of Dale’s life. Growing up he worked on a farm with his father.

In his free-time, Dale enjoyed attending various county fairs, and attending equipment auctions. He loved to go out to eat and was a frequent guest at Texas Roadhouse. But his biggest joy was heckling his many friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his son, Cole Loveday; a brother, James (Marcia) Loveday of Winfield; sister-in-law, Tanna Loveday of Dover; several close friends; and many others who have helped care for him throughout his illness.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a brother, Robert W. Loveday.

Friends will gather on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 4 – 7 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service will be led by Pastor Dwight Mason on Saturday, August 29, 2026, beginning at 11 AM in the funeral home. A meal will be shared in the Hospitality Room of the Dover Geib Center immediately following the service. A 2:00 PM graveside service will be held in the Stone Creek Cemetery.
