Dale Ward Hicks, age 73, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away on April 14, 2026, at Park Village Southside in New Philadelphia.

He was born on October 29, 1952, in Dover, Ohio, and was the son of the late Ward Dale Hicks and Betty Jean (Basiletti) Hicks.

Dale was a 1971 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. He dedicated 22 years of service as a custodian with the New Philadelphia City Schools.

Dale loved to be at Atwood Lake where he enjoyed years of camping and fishing. He also enjoyed bowling in a senior league with his dad.

He is survived by his loving family: his son, Chad (Tricia) Hicks of New Philadelphia; his grandson, Logan (Peyton) Bitikofer; his great-granddaughter, Sterling Bitikofer; his brother, Douglas (Doreena) Hicks of Midvale; and his sister, Jenifer (Keith) Clemens of New Philadelphia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Brenda, and other beloved family members.
