Dale R. Crone, age 88, of Dover, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital.

Born on October 7, 1937, in Dover, Dale was the only child of the late Earl R. and Violet E. (Stein) Crone.

A lifelong resident of Dover, Dale was known by many as a popular meat cutter in local meat markets. He spent most of his career with M&M Market in Dover where he retired. Dale was a man who left an indelible impact in people’s lives. From coworkers to customers, Dale instilled a worked ethic and love for people in each person that he met.

In his free time Dale could be found on a local golf course enjoying being outside. He also enjoyed fishing. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Janice (Tippett); son, Rick (Joy) Crone of Dover; grandchildren, Kelly (Sam) Vuletich of Dover, and Justin Crone of Bellefontaine, Ohio; and great-grandchildren, Josephine, Emelia, and Samantha.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will greet guests on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A service honoring Dale’s life will begin at 6:00 PM in the funeral home. A private burial will be held at a later time in Dover Burial Park.
