Charles H. Murray II, 80, of Dundee, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 in Cleveland Clinic-Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.

Born in the family home at Winfield, Charles was the son of the late Charles H. and Grace (Aul) Murray, Sr. and had retired from AK Steel at Dover. Following his graduation from high school, Charles proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Charles loved being outdoors. It did not matter if he was fishing, hunting or just walking in the woods, being outdoors was where he wanted to be. He also had a passion for working on and restoring everything from cars, to engines and tractors. As long as it was mechanical, it did not matter, he enjoyed tinkering with it.

On July 1, 2005, Charles married Theresa E. (Carlisle) Murray, and had recently celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary. Also surviving are two sons, Charles H. Murray, III and his fiancée, Olivia Vitanza of Cleveland and Jeff Murray and his companion Melissa Tice of Dundee; two step-sons, Nicholas (Nicole) Rummell of Tennessee and Thomas Rummell of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Ethan Murray, Gage Tice, Annabelle Rummell and Percy Rummell; two great grandchildren and a sister, Martha (Gene) Martinelli.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother Don Murray and a sister, Susan Mitchell.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 5 to 7 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. In keeping with his wishes, cremation care has been provided by the Geib Funeral Center & Crematory at Dover and a private burial is to take place in the future.
