Charles P. "Chuck" Kuntzman, Sr.

Charles P. “Chuck” Kuntzman, Sr., 69 of Dover, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Friday, February 23, 2024 in Community Hospice – Turman House at New Philadelphia.

 

Born in Alliance, Chuck was the son of the late Robert and Vida (Mason) Kuntzman and was employed as a Warranty Service Manager for Schumacher Homes in Akron and along with his wife, Ruthann, had owned and operated the Holy Grounds Café at Dennison for over 16 years.

 

Chuck was a longtime member of the Dennison Foursquare Gospel Church at Dennison where he was active in the church sports teams playing in church volleyball and church softball leagues. He also played for many years in the Dover City Softball league and was a former member of the Tornado Club and  loved being a proud supporter of all Dover High School Sports.

 

Chuck is survived by his wife, Ruthann (Wikoff) Kuntzman of the residence; his four children, Chuckie Paul (Jenny) Kuntzman, Staci Gurney and her companion Jason Keenan and Michael (Angela) Kuntzman all of Alliance and Aaron (Kristina “KB” ) Kuntzman of Dover; a step-daughter, Rachelle (Brent) Thurber of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Allie, Sydney and Mackenzie Kuntzman, Dakota Gurney and Carter Keenan, Jordan and Gavin Kuntzman and Greyson Kuntzman; a great granddaughter, Riverlyn Rose; three brothers, Robert Kuntzman, Gerald Kuntzman, Bruce Kuntzman and two sisters, Pam Foley and Tina Barker; his mother-in-law, Janice M. Wikoff; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike (Sandy) Wikoff; Pam (Randy) Frank, Paula Kimble, Ray Roof, all of Dover and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by a brother, David Kuntzman; a sister, Dorothy Flores; two foster brothers, George Coffman and Russ Davis.

 

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 5 to 8 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Following the visitation and in keeping with Chuck’s wishes, cremation care is to be provided and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 beginning at 11 AM in the Dennison Foursquare Gospel Church at Dennison with Pastor Rod Phillips officiating.

 

To honor Chuck’s memory, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to either Community Hospice-Truman House, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663, or, Dennison Foursquare Church, 7325 – US Route 250, Dennison, Ohio 44621.
