Charles E. Horner, Jr.

Charles E. Horner, Jr. 67, of Wainwright, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at his residence.

 

Born in Dover, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Doris V. (Beamer) Horner, Sr. and a graduate of the former Indian Valley South High School. Charles was a dedicated employee during his career at Matheson Gas, where he worked as a delivery driver before retiring after 14 years of service.
 
In his leisure time, Charles found joy in fishing and spending weekends camping at Twin Hills Campground and will be remembered by those near to him for his ornery smile and sense of humor.
 
Charles will be deeply missed by his three children, Carla Taylor and her fiancé, Ben Oldaker of Ashland, Kentucky, Stacy (Seth) Merriman of West Liberty and Travis (Amber) Horner of Sherrodsville; his sister, Joan Swaney of New Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren, Haylee, Logan, Ellie, Jacob, Levi, Olivia, Alveya, Charlee, Slayde, Lucas, Aubree and Austin; his niece, Jill Swaney and nephew, Paul Swaney, II.

 

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Paul Swaney and his nephew, Nick Swaney.

 

In keeping with his wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a private burial will take place alongside his parents in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
