Charles Earl “Bud” Robinson, age 98, of Dover, died peacefully, Saturday, September 30, 2023, while under the care of Crossroads Hospice at Inn of Northwood.

Bud was previously employed by Warner and Swasey (now Gradall) in several capacities, both at New Philadelphia and Winona, Minnesota.  He was also Past President of the Warner and Swasey Athletic Association at New Philadelphia.  Additionally, he was employed several years at Joy Manufacturing in Birmingham, Alabama and several years with Stockham Valves and Fittings also in Birmingham, Alabama.

Bud was a lifetime member of the VFW where he served on the burial honor guard, a lifetime member of Elks BOPE #50, a longtime member of Dover #59 Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Rochester, Minnesota, and Tadmor Shrine of Akron, Ohio.  In addition, he as a former member of the Winfield United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and a member of the Pastor-Parish Committee.  At the time of his death, he was a member of the New Philadelphia Presbyterian Church.

He was a WWII veteran of the Pacific Theatre having served in the US Navy as a radioman-gunner on a torpedo bomber.  He earned numerous medals including several air medals.

Bud is survived by his son, Gary (Liz) Robinson of Evansville, Indiana; daughter, Betty (Mark) Santee of Tempe, Arizona; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Gier; brother, Joe Robinson; and close friend who was considered a son, Steve Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ida (Rambo) Robinson; his first wife, Donna (Sewell) Robinson; second wife, Nancy (Wise) Robinson; sons, Christopher Robinson, and Thomas Robinson; grandson, Jonathan Munzinger; granddaughter, Angela Robinson; and sisters, Betty Robinson, Edith Warner, Marilyn Morrison, and Martha Santangelo.

The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with his care.  A graveside service will be held at a later date.
