Carrie Wherley

Caroline Elizabeth “Carrie” Wherley, age 82, of Dover, passed away early Thursday, November 16, 2023, following a period of decline.

Born in Columbus, Ohio on January 4, 1941, Carrie was a daughter of the late Elton and Mariam “Bee” (Sheets) Kaderly.

Carrie was a 1963 graduate of Otterbein University.  She was a home economist with The Ohio State Extension Office.  In her free time Carrie was an avid knitter.  She was also very active in the church.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Wherley whom she married on December 28, 1963; children, Timothy (Chella) Wherley of Dover, Jill (Eddie) Foster of Boston, Massachusetts, and Trisha (Jonathan “Shooter” Smith) Wherley of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Grace (Michael) Edelheit, Quentin Wherley, Ethan Wherley, Evan Wherley, Elden Wherley, Eva Wherley, Sheny Foster, and Dante Foster; sister, Rebecca (Bob) Pinker; and brother, Dr. Rob (Gayle) Kaderly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and son, Jeffrey Wherley.

A memorial service celebrating Carrie’s life will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A reception will follow in the funeral home Hospitability Center.  Cremation care will be handled through the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.
