Carolyn L. Haas, 83, of Strasburg died April 28, 2026, at Altercare Navarre following a battle with cancer.
Born in Freeport October 4, 1942, Carolyn was the daughter of Joseph H. and Leila M. (Reynolds) Burris. She attended Freeport and Lakeland schools before marrying and starting her family. She retired from Merrilat Industries, where she worked after many years with United Parcel Service.
A devoted wife and adoring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Carolyn was an animal lover and adopted many rescue dogs. She was a talented cook and baker, especially of her German chocolate pie, whose recipe she guarded closely. She loved to travel, especially to visit her children and grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her husband M. Dale Haas, daughter Pamela (Steven) Bolter of Palm Coast, Florida, her sons Hal (Kim) Bayer of Goodyear, Arizona, Daniel of Signal Hill, California, her stepson Mark (Jenny) Hass of Barberton, and her beloved chow-chow Zoey.
She will be missed by her grandchildren Stephanie (Michael) Williams, Tyler (Hannah) Bayer, Sophia Armendariz-Bayer, Nathaniel (Abby) Haas, and Rachel (Jeff) Dupps.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers Joseph Jr., James, and Charles, and her stepson Michael.
In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes, private services will be held, followed by inurnment in Dover Burial Park. Cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia.
