Carol Sue Kenner

Carol Sue Kenner, of New Philadelphia passed away September 15, 2026, at Park Village Southside.

Born August 9, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Howard J. and Dorothy M. Schumacher Knisely.

Sue, as she was known to family and friends, graduated in 1950 from New Philadelphia High School.

In May of 1950, she began her employment with New Philadelphia Board of Education as the high school secretary and served in that position for 16 years.

On July 20, 1956, she married the late Carson D. Keener in St. John’s United Church of Christ at Dover, where they were members.

Sue enjoyed bowling, traveling and camping. She also enjoyed tending to her flower beds and feeding the birds and squirrels.

She was a member of the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.

Sue is survived by a brother-in-law, Carroll Z. (Linda) Keener; a nephew, Mike; a great-niece, Natasha; cousins, Judy Campo, Carolyn (Charles) Stratton and Dr. Sally Hodder; and several additional cousins.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026 from 10 to 11 am. Rev. Dr. Cassandra Granados will lead a service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in East Ave. Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
