Carol Marie Steinbach, age 65, of Port Washington, died peacefully Saturday, August 2, 2025, while in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House.
Born in Twin City Hospital at Dennison on October 19, 1959, Carol is the daughter of George Slocum of Uhrichsville and the late Reeda Poletti Slocum.
Carol was a 1978 graduate of Claymont High School and worked for many years in the Quality Control and Quality Assurance fields for Meteor Sealing Systems at Dover and recently retired from MSI at Newcomerstown.
Carol loved her family and took every opportunity to enjoy her grandchildren’s sporting activities. She also loved gaming—whether it was on the computer or by simply saying, 'I think we need to take a drive,' which meant she wanted to spend time at the Wheeling Island Casino.
In addition to her father, Carol will be missed by her companion and husband of more than 30 years, Phillip Steinbach; children, Heather (David) Harper of Bolivar, Bryan Manning of Uhrichsville, Shanan (Brian) Steed of Dover, and Autum (Joe McDonald) Steinbach of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Chase, McKinzie, and Rylee Harper, and Justen Steed; siblings, Mark (Linda) Slocum of Riverside, Terri Cecil of Dennison, Brenda Slocum and Diana (Mike Swain) Addleman all of Uhrichsville as well as her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, Carol was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Haney; a brother-in-law, Allen Cecil; niece, Nikki Hreha; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Robert Steinbach.
In keeping with Carol’s wishes, there will be no public services. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
