Bobby G. Murphy, age 85, of Zoarville, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House after a period of declining health.
Born on June 9, 1939, in Cederville, West Virginia, Bob was a son of the late Lanta and LuLu (Tomblin) Murphy.
On May 29, 1965, Bob married the love of his life, the former Rosalind Monticelli. Together, they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Bob worked for 35 years for the Timken Company as a material handler. He was an usher for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for many years as well as a member of Knights of Columbus. In his free time Bob enjoyed going to car shows. But his greatest joy in life was being a husband, father, and grandfather. There was nothing better than time spent together as a family telling jokes and going out to eat.
In addition to his wife, Rosalind, Bob is survived by his son, Robert (Laura) Murphy of New Philadelphia; daughters, Lisa (Thomas) Long of Mineral City, and Lori Murphy of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Nathan Long, Zachary (Morgan) Murphy, Madison (fiancé, Kaleb Stokey) Murphy, Marissa (Drake) Neilson, Gracie Murphy, and Isabella Murphy; sisters, Bonnie Yost, and Roxie Long; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rita (Jerry) Briggs, and Lou (Karen) Monticelli; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frederick (Pete) and Erminia Monticelli; sister, Dixie (Gene) Krupka; and brothers-in-law, Steve Long, Glenn Yost, and Eugene Monticelli.
