Betty J. Stingel

Betty J. Stingel, 86, of Tuscarawas, died peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2009 at her home.A daughter of the late Ralph and Faye (Curtis) Collins, Betty was born June 5, 1923 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.Betty was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and during World War II she worked for the Timken Company at Canton.After marrying Harold Stingel, Betty decided to stay at home to take care of the children. She was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church.She is survived by three sons, Glen Stingel of Daytona, Florida, Leonard (Faye) Stingel and Jerry Stingel both of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; an infant daughter, Sandra; a sister, Maxine and four brothers, Jim, Don, Bob and Richard.In keeping with Betty’s wishes, there will no public services and cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
