Betty J Haverfield

Betty J. Haverfield, 85, of New Philadelphia, passed away in Aultman Hospital at Canton Monday, August 13, 2012.

Born in Mansfield on April 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late David Eldon Krauter and Faye (Ritter) Swigart.

Betty was a talented seamstress, enjoyed collecting dolls, and gardening. After retiring from Alsco Windows & Doors in Sugarcreek, she grew very fond of daily visits with her loving neighbors, Randy and Risa Pierson and their dogs.

Betty will be deeply missed by her children, Jana (Michael) Demchak of Akron, Barbara (Chad) Hulsizer of Pensacola, FL, Peggy (Randy) Wells of New Philadelphia, and Michael Haverfield, Dover; her siblings, Mary Pace of Dover, Paul (Joann) Krauter and Wilma (Glen) Phillips, both of Mansfield; and 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews complete her family.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, John Krauter.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday, August 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Betty’s life will be held on Thursday beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park.

Friends and family are invited to the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, where a meal will be shared following the committal service.
