Obituary

Rebecca Ann "Becki" Cox, age 60, of New Philadelphia passed into the arms of her Lord & Savior on April 12, 2026 while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 29, 1965 in Dover to Creston & Ramona (Sietsema) Schoelles. She was a graduate of Indian Valley North High School and Kent State University.

On June 20, 1987 she married David A. Cox and they shared 38 years of marriage. Together they made a formidable team grounded in their faith and mutual respect for each other.

Becki was a devoted and dedicated mother. She found great joy in staying home with her sons when they were young, caring for them and ensuring all of their needs were met. She spent many hours helping in their school throughout their education. During this time and after returning to the workforce she was instrumental in managing the businesses she shared with Dave.

She treasured the relationships she formed with her work family along her professional journey. Most recently she worked for Kent State University before continuing her career with New Philadelphia City Schools in the Treasurer's Office.

A quiet servant at heart, Becki was always willing to help and made sure everything was taken care of. She would recognize a need and find a way to fill it, many times anonymously. Her faith was steadfast. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School when her sons were young and continued serving in the children's ministry at Faith Christian Church and volunteering in concession stands for soccer games.

Becki's greatest legacy is her family. She will forever be honored and remembered by those she leaves behind: her beloved husband, Dave Cox: her sons, Kameron (Laura Russell) Cox of Kenai, Alaska and Tyler Cox of New Philadelphia; her mother, Ramona Schoelles; her sisters, Heidi (John) Fragasse and Kelli (Tom) Cole; her brother, Jon (Tammy) Schoelles; her mother-in-law, Esther Cox; her brothers-in-law, Todd (Cathy) Cox and Rob (Ritchie) Anderson-Cox; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Creston Schoelles and her father-in-law, Dave Cox.

A graveside service will be held on April 18, 2026 at 10:30 am in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia.

Memorial contributions in Becki's name may be made to Faith Christian Church, 2012 Pleasant Valley Rd NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
