Barbara Ann Uher, 83, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Friday, July 25, 2025 in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover, following a period of declining health.
Born September 26, 1941 in Dover to the late Anthony Casey “Tony” and Mary Catherine (Pancheri) Cusano, Barb was raised in Roswell loved by family and friends. As a young girl, she enjoyed taking day trips to New Philadelphia with her Nona (grandmother), always finding a way to hitch a ride. She was a 1959 graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School at Dennison.
On November 8, 1969, she married the late James Uher. Together, they raised three children and shared many memorable years with the B.P.O.E. #510, where Barb proudly supported her husband's leadership and formed lifelong friendships.
Barb was a talented cook, known especially for her delicious spaghetti and lasagna, made with her signature homemade sauce. She took great pride in caring for her home and family, and gave generously of her time, volunteering for various groups and serving meals at her church. In her quiet times, she could often be found doing counted cross stitch projects and collecting Snowbabies figurines. Barb also loved to read on her front porch and visit with neighbors.
Barb will be deeply missed by her children, Christina and Patrick Morris of New Philadelphia, Christopher and Jennifer Varcolla of New Philadelphia, and Annette and Reed Bowers of Strasburg; her three grandchildren, Grant and Ashley Morris of Morrow, Anthony and Tara Varcolla of New Philadelphia, and Sarah and Jalen Miller of Grove City; and great-grandson, Colby James Morris.
In addition to her husband and parents, Barb was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Cusano.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation care is to be provided and the family will receive friends on Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 2-4 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia.
