Barbara Elaine Schilling

Barbara Elaine Schilling, age 75, formerly of Ragersville, died peacefully, early Friday, October 16, 2026, while in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover under the care of Ohio’s Hospice.

Born on May 2, 1951, Barbara was a daughter of the late Dennis and Mary F. Reichman McCahill.

Following her graduation from Indian Valley North High School in 1969, Barbara married Roy A. Schilling on October 27, 1973. Together the couple raised two children and operated their family business Schilling Electric. Barbara managed the office while Roy worked and bid jobs. Roy preceded Barbara in death on March 13, 2024.

Some of Barbara’s many passions in life included singing in the church choir at Fiat United Church of Christ, spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens, cooking, hosting gatherings and spending time with her large extended family. In her younger years, she never shied away from an opportunity to play a good match of badminton.

Barbara is survived by her children; daughter, Kendra S. Schilling of New Philadelphia; her son, Brian A. Schilling of Tuscarawas; two sisters, Shirley Sinkovich of Baltic, and Karen (Dave) Green of Midvale as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Lou Ridgway, Janie Urfer, and Elizabeth “Ann” Craig, and four brothers, Ronald McCahill, Charles “Chip” McCahill, Dennis McCahill, and Harold McCahill.

In honoring her wishes there will be no public services. Burial will take place in the Dover Burial Park. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
