Barbara A. Roudebush, age 93, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in Park Village Healthcare Center at Dover.

A daughter of the late Ted and Flossie Cookson Rees, Barbara was born in Goshen on September 5, 1930.

She was a 1948 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and married Dale J. Roudebush on January 7, 1949. Together the couple had three children and shared in 64 years of marriage prior to his passing on July 29, 2013.

Barb’s priority in life was her family. She spent many years as a homemaker and once her children were grown, she greatly enjoyed the opportunities to care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the First United Church of Christ at New Philadelphia and also spent 13 years working as a sales clerk for the former Rinks Department Store. Barb also loved spending time with her various friend groups walking, crafting, and going on various outings.

She is survived by her family that includes, her daughter, Jennifer (Mike Stroup) Knight of New Philadelphia; sons, Dennis (Karen) Roudebush of Elmwood, Illinois, and Ted (Margaret) Roudebush of Cleveland; her grandchildren, Amy Hamilton, Abby (Keith) Cua, Andrea “Andi” (Jason Burick) Knight, Whitney (Tom) Maier, Courtney Roudebush, Kaitlyn (Steven) Roby, and Alison (Nick) Gundlach; great-grandchildren, Jaye, Owen, and Livie Hamilton, Ainsley and Nick Cua, Dechlan Roudebush, Quincy and Collins Maier, Luciana Burick, and Emmet Roby, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Hulett. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Barb was preceded in death by a brother, Ross Oberlin, and a son-in-law, Robert Knight.

A memorial service celebrating Barb’s life will be led by Pastor Brian Flood on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where the family will greet guests one hour prior to the service from 10 – 11 AM. A meal and fellowship will follow in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.

Barb had a great passion for Tuscora Park and her family would be honored to have contributions in her memory be directed to RTY, Inc., 161 Tuscora Avenue NW New Philadelphia Ohio, 44663.
