Barbara Ann Norman, 89, of Strasburg, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at Park Village Southside.

Born in Beach City on August 29, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. Smith and Ethel E. (Solley) Grinder. After completing her formal education, Barbara was blessed with the birth of her four children, to whom she devoted her life.

Barb was a faithful member of Ruslin Hills Church, where she actively participated in the Ladies Guild. She retired from the former South Broadway Nursing Home, where she faithfully cared for the residents’ laundry needs. In addition, she and her sister, Bernice, co-owned B & B Cleaning, providing cleaning services to local businesses and residences.

In her free time, Barb was an avid reader, with a special love for the Bible. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and bowling, and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians. Barb also loved traveling, especially visiting her daughter in California and spending many weeks in Hilton Head with her daughter, Deb.

Barb will be remembered for her faith, her strong work ethic, and her deep love for family.

Barb’s family includes her children, Deb (Bruce) Widder of Dover, Marla Downs of Colton, CA, and Joe (Shelly) Stotzer of Worthington; grandchildren, Malia Widder, Breann Widder, Britney Stotzer, Cody (Jordan) Stotzer, Shaun (Sydnie) Stotzer, Madison Downs, Cambria Stotzer, and Ava Stotzer; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Aubriella, and Chloe; numerous nieces and nephews; her sister, Sandra Tyson; dear friend, Ellie Schlimm; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Lewis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her son, Allen Stotzer who passed away in 2013; her step-father, Austin P. Grinder; and siblings John Smith, Thomas Smith, Jr., Bernice Welsh, Ronald Smith, James Smith, and Sally Nagel.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m. with Pastor Bill Breon officiating a service beginning at 11 a.m. Private inurnment will be held in Dover Burial Park at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Barb’s memory may be directed to Ruslin Hills Church.
