Retirement means "give more" to Walt Linder, who joined as an associate of the Geib Family & Staff in the spring of 2007.

Walt learned his superior work ethic from growing up as one of six children, all caring for his family's farm.

The majority of Walt's life has revolved around the farming industry. He began his career working for his father's farm equipment business before joining New Holland for 31 years as a territory manager. Walt could have retired, but continued in the industry working for a machinery distributor throughout Ohio and Michigan. He finally hung up his farming gloves in August of 2006.

Unwilling to watch the grass grow in retirement, Walt soon became an active volunteer for Hospice of Tuscarawas County, alongside his wife, Julia, who has been a passionate volunteer for years.

He also is an active member of First United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia where he serves on the finance committee and sings tenor in the choir.

Walt enjoys his participation at the Dover Elks, the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, and his 33-year membership with the Schoenbrunn Valley Barbershop Chorus.

Walt also enjoys spending time with his family including four children and one grandson, Alex.

Walt plays an integral role in caring for families at Geib's assisting with funerals, delivering floral pieces, conducting transfers in the evening and tending to other important details.

"It is a pleasure having Walt on our care team. His ability to relate to people and his contagious positive attitude make Walt a wonderful addition to the Geib Family & Staff," said Rich Geib.
