William Sellers, III

William Sellers III, 76, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in Schoenbrunn Health Care at New Philadelphia following a lengthy illness.

A son of the late William Sellers II and the late Frances (Phillipi) Sellers, Bill was born January 23, 1942 at New Philadelphia.

He was a 1960 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Bill had a passion for music and he had an extensive collection records and movies. He was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians.

He is survived by his wife, Betty (Alexander) Sellers whom he married on August 30, 1971; his step-children, Garry (Barbara) Martin of Mineral City and Marlene Miller of New Philadelphia; his step-grandchildren, Karry (Brett) Jones, Steven (Tana) Martin, Nicole Martin, Heather Bourquin, Staci Martin, Justin Martin, Jason (Jen) Miller and Andrea (David) Brantley; 15 step-great grandchildren; one step- great-great grandchild and several cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son, Bob Martin and a step-son-in-law, Chuck Miller.

In keeping with William’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A memorial service celebrating William’s will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Mick Foster officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
