William Chester Farringer

March 23, 1933 — January 29, 2017

William Chester Farringer, 83, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully January 29, 2017 following a period of declining health.
Born in Findlay, O. on March 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Roy Barnett and Lillian Onda (King) Farringer.
After completing his formal education, he honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. His professional career as an engineer spanned 36 years with GTE until his retirement.
Bill and his late wife, the former Bertha M. Janes, were devoted members to the F. & A.M. Lodge #177 and the New Philadelphia Chapter #222 Order of Eastern Star. He was also a longtime member of the retirees of GTE. Bertha and Bill also dearly loved their daughter and grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Terri Lyn (Todd) McClave of Dennison; his grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Ham of Parker, Colorado, Tyler (Eva) McClave of New Philadelphia, and Erin (Marlin) Miller of Dennison; his great-grandchildren, Nora, Adelyn, Emma, Ellie, Bennett, Delila, Oliver and Estella; and his brother, Virgil Farringer of Cinncinati.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Madelon Baker and Robert Farringer.
A private service and inurnment at Union Cemetery will take place at a later date.
