Willard Espenschied

Willard L. Espenschied, 84, of New Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 following a period of declining health.

A son of the late John and Alice (Hamel) Espenschied, Willard was born February 21, 1934 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.

Willard was a member of the Church of Christ at New Philadelphia and was retired from Marlite where he worked as a mechanic for more than 40 years.

He had a passion for motorcycles and was a proud owner of many Harley Davidson Motorcycles over the years. Willard will be remembered as being a gifted mechanic, his love for sweets and could often be found relaxing on his porch swing. Most of all, he cherished his family and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene (Hupp) Espenschied whom he married on August 3, 1953; his children, Rita (Mike) Tarulli of Matthews, North Carolina, Helen Jean Warner, W. Lee (Julia) Espenschied and Cynthia Patton all of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Saundra Davis, Jason Tarulli, Weslee, Ashlee and Kaylee Patton, Derick and Jinnalee Espenschied and Jimmy and Jillian Warner and numerous great-grandchildren.

In keeping with Willard’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
