Wendy M. Hidey

Wendy May Hidey, 64, of New Philadelphia passed away in Union Hospital at Dover on April 16, 2016.

Born in Canton on May 18, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Virgil E. Moyer and Betty J. (Lute) Justice.

She worked as a press operator for Best In Plastics in Bolivar. Then, she spent many years managing Fox Pizza. Wendy enjoyed gardening, cooking, and most importantly, caring for her family.

In 1975, she married the late Samuel B. Hidey who preceded her in passing on December 5, 2001.

Wendy is survived by her children, Melissa (fiance, David Kaufman) Hidey of Baltic, Christina (Dean) Shahan of Dover, Almeda “Meme” (David) McClintock of Dennison, and Roy (Cheyenne) Reynolds, Jr. of New Philadelphia; her sister, Deanne (Floyd) Conner of New Philadelphia; her brothers, Virgil (Sandie) Moyer of Massillon and Robert (Gail) Moyer of Newcomerstown; her special cousin and best friend, Glenna Miller of Uhrichsville; her daughter-in-law, Esther Hidey of Dundee; and her brother-in-law, Boyd “Sonny” Reynolds of Dennison.

She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Kimberly (Shane) Smith, Cory (April) Schlabach, Justin Schlabach, Travis (Jennifer) Ecenbarger, Anthony McClintock, Dakota (McKenzie) Heubner, Nathan Reynolds, Hayden Hidey, Jazlynn Shahan, Payton, McKenzie, Riley, and Conner Reynolds, Ray (Jessie) Owens, Roberta (Mike) Robinson, Kristopher (Whitney) McClintock and Amanda McClintock; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Wendy was preceded in death by one grandson and her sister, Louise Reynolds.

Visitation will be held in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. A service will be held Wednesday at 2 pm in the funeral home followed by burial in Evergreen Burial Park.
