Wells N. “Duesy” Duesenberry, 79, of Dover, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A son of the late Newton and Elizabeth (Gross) Duesenberry, Wells was born January 31, 1938 at Dover, Ohio.

Wells was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the Timken Company where he worked for 32 years.

He attended the First Baptist Church at New Philadelphia. He was an avid golfer and he also enjoyed bowling and playing softball in his younger years.

He is survived by his wife JoAnn (Neighley) Duesenberry whom he married on February 28, 1960; two daughters, Kimberly (Trent) Lenhart of Dover and Kari (Bob) Kohler of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Kortney Kohler and Jordan and Claire Lenhart; a sister, Eloise Leffel of North Canton and many nieces and nephews.

Wells was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Dawn Duesenberry; a brother, Clifford Duesenberry as well as several other siblings.

Private services will take place in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and interment will take place in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Wells’ memory to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663 or to the First Baptist Church, 878 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
