Theresa Berentz

Theresa Berentz, 74, of New Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in care of Community Hospice at New Philadelphia.

A daughter of the late Dominic and Barbara (Kalich) Zuchegno, Theresa was born November 2, 1942 at Dover, Ohio.

Theresa’s biggest joy in life was her family and she cherished the time they spent together.  She enjoyed many hobbies including tending to her flower bed, playing cards, playing bingo, and bowling.  She also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers as well as Ohio State University’s teams.

She is survived by her husband, David Berentz, who she married July 10, 1961; her daughter, Tina (Scott) Keffer; two grandchildren, Brandon (Audrey Wolfe) Keffer and Amanda Keffer; her sister Rosalie Mossor; her brother Frank Zuchegno ; brother-in-law, Clifford (Donna) Berentz and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Steven Berentz; three brothers, Larry, Gene, and Bob Zuchegno and her sister, Debbie Garner.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A service celebrating Theresa’s life will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home’s chapel.  Burial will take place at a later date.
