Terry Lynn St. George, 68, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly, Monday, April 17, 2017 in Union Hospital at Dover.

A son of the late John St. George and Marjorie (Johnson) Stevens, Terry was born in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio on July 1, 1948.

He was a 1966 graduate of Tusky Valley High School and briefly attended Kent State University prior to joining the United States Army and honorably serving his country as a Chaplain’s Assistant.

Following his discharge from the Army, Terry began his studies in the medical field but found his life passion to be music. For the past 50 years, he played at many local venues and was a part of Velvet Crest, American Grease, the duo Garbrandt & St. George, and most recently, The Next. He also performed a great deal as a solo artist. For the past six years, he has enjoyed being a driver for Horizons, Inc. His favorite job, however, was being grandpa and babysitting his grandson, Sylis.

He will be missed by his wife, Revecka (Ridgway) St. George, whom he married on March 29, 1988; their children, Terry St. George, Jr. and Greer (Travis) Llewellyn all of New Philadelphia; his grandson, Sylis Llewellyn; an expected grandchild due in September; his sister, Marla Gordon of Worthington, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by a brother, John “Butch” St. George and a nephew, Greg Gordon.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Cremation has been cared for by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.

Those wishing to do so may direct memorial contributions to the Carl C. Stoller Post 1445 New Philadelphia VFW, 441 Park Ave NW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663 or to the Mineral City American Legion, PO Box 416 Mineral City, OH 44656.

With deepest sympathy for the whole St. George Family! I am so sorry for the Loss of your husband Revecca! My Sympathy also to you Greer and your husband and your son and Terry Jr. for the loss of your Dad! Terry was an Awesome Cousin and a good person and lots of fun to be around. Lots of memories of all of us cousins growing up together. He did have a passion for his music and I loved to listen to him sing and play his guitar! I remember a song that he recorded with his band back in the sixties. It was called "Look Homeward Angel" .I still have that song on a 45 record! Now he is singing in Heaven! He will be missed! Thoughts and prayers to you all!

Sorry for the loss of a great friend. He and I go way back. Too many stories to tell. He and his brother were a special kind of guys that don't come along near often enough. Special sadness to his wife and kids. They meant an awful lot to him. He spoke of them often. So till we meet again, play on, drive on ,and continue the laughter.
