Stephanie Baird

July 25, 1953 — August 28, 2017

Stephanie Ann Baird, 64, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, August 28, 2017 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a brief illness.

A daughter of Elaine (Stephan) Hudak of New Philadelphia and the late Harry Hudak, Stephanie was born July 25, 1953 at Massillon, Ohio.

Stephanie graduated from Conotton Valley High School in 1971. She then continued her education at Kent State University earning a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in Library Science. Stephanie was retired from the New Philadelphia Branch of the Tuscarawas County Library where she served as Head Librarian of the Children’s Department.

She will be remembered as being a wonderful hostess. Stephanie found great joy in cooking for, feeding, serving and caring for her friends and family. She also enjoyed Karaoke and knitting.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Steve Baird whom she married on October 27, 1972; her daughter and son-in-law, Marlee and Ashby Herman of Richmond, Virginia; her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Lauralee Baird of Newcomerstown; her grandchildren, Casey Richardson, Brody Baird and Caleb and Ethan Sanders, and three siblings, Colleen (William) Hudak-Wise of Raleigh, North Carolina, Renee (Leonard) Hudak-Breaux of Page, Arizona and Sherrie (John) Kibler of New Philadelphia.

In keeping with Stephanie’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. The family will receive guests during a memorial visitation on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover, 5600 North Wooster Avenue, Dover, OH 44622.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Stephanie’s memory to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
