Sharon Kay Aitkens

January 14, 1940 — November 8, 2017

Sharon Kay Aitkens, 77 of Hennis Care Center at Dover passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.

Born at St. Joseph, Missouri on January 14, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Donald Stegall and Norma (Withrow) Edwards.

A resident of Missouri for the majority of her life, Sharon worked as an aid in a mental health care facility and as a surgical technician prior to retiring and moving to Ohio to be closer to family. In her free time, she enjoyed craft bead work; making and giving away many necklaces, bracelets and others trinkets through the years.

Sharon will be greatly missed for her feisty attitude and her love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a family that includes her sons, Scott Timmons and Kevin (Tanya) Timmons, Sr.; a sister, Phyllis; four grandsons, Ricky Clark and Jonathan Clark, Kevin Timmons, Jr. and Jacob Timmons; five granddaughters, Amber Timmons Kinyon, Shawna Timmons, Tessa Timmons, Melissa Timmons, and Christi Smith.

Completing the family are her great-grandchildren, Josh and Erin Kinyon, Maliki and Natalie Westerhold, Aydian, Kyrie, Kwaunya, Ka’Tyana, and Ka’Lyana Berk, and Alex, Jesyka, and Alicia Smith.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by the love of her life, her first husband, Lawrence Lee Timmons, her daughters, Candice Miller and Tammy Timmons; and her brothers, Phillip Stegall and Jim Stegall.

In keeping with Sharon’s wishes there will be no pubic visitation or services. A burial in Kansas will be planned at a later date. Cremation care has been handled by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
