Rita Foster

Rita L. Foster, 68, of New Philadelphia, passed away in Union Hospital at Dover on November 12, 2017 following a period of declining health.

Born in Dover on April 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Howard W. Cline and Mary A. Elson Cline Buechele.

Rita’s professional career spanned numerous years with Union Hospital in their housekeeping department. In 1974, she married William G. Foster, Sr. who survives.

Her passions included her family and friends, gardening, camping, and traveling.

Rita’s family includes her husband; her children, William (Christy Vitt) Foster, Jr., Floyd (Kris Singree) Foster, Eric (Kim) Belknap, Shawn (Brenda) Belknap, and Susan (Allen) Freeland; her step-children, Bob (Melody) Switzer, Melissa Foster, James Foster, and Donald (Tricia) Foster; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; her siblings, Carol Gerber, Dorothy Landis, and Ronald (Barb) Cline; and step-brothers, Charles (Wilma) Buechele and Delbert (Connie) Buechele.

In addition to her parents and step-father, Charles Buechele, Rita was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Renee; five siblings; and her father and mother-in-law, Floyd H. and Mary M (Cox) Foster, Sr.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017 in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover from 9:30 to 11:30 AM, with Pastor Doug Kilchenman officiating a service at 11:30 AM.
