Paulina G. “Lil” Huyghe, 90, of Uhrichsville, died Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Claymont Healthcare and Rehab Center following a brief illness.

A daughter of the late John Thomas and Edna (Nixon) Grimm, she was born February 4, 1927 in Stratton, Ohio.

Lil attended Toronto High School and after completing her formal education, she worked as a crane operator at the steel mill. There, she met her future husband, Albert Huyghe, and on August 29, 1947 they were married. Together, Al and Lil raised two sons, Jeffrey and Mark.

Lil and Al were members of the First United Methodist Church at Uhrichsville where she was involved with the United Methodist Women. She served as the chairperson for the funeral meals for 15 years. Lil was also a longtime member of Topps and greatly enjoyed her involvement as an assistant Girl Scout leader and a YMCA member. Lil was also an avid Indians and Steelers fan. Most importantly, she loved to take care of her family and her home.

She will be deeply missed by her son Mark Huyghe and his wife Cindy of Uhrichsville; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Huyghe of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Rob) Crouse, Retired Marine Corps Sgt. Jason (Tara) Huyghe, and Alicia (Richard) Millard; three great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Brogan Crouse and Nathan Huyghe; siblings, Dale (Carol) Grimm, Norman (Julie) Grimm, Joyce Ketchum and Linda Grimm; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lil was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al, who died March 10, 2007; her son Jeffrey, who passed away on February 15, 1994; and her brothers, John, David, and Richard.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
