Nicholas Dunn

February 12, 1998 — January 17, 2018

Nicholas J. Dunn, 19, of New Philadelphia, took his own life following years of hard fought battles of depression which were intensified by drug use.

Nick’s depression and addiction changed him as a person to someone he was not. While time spent in rehabilitation centers would help set his path straight for a while, he found himself back in hard to break cycles which kept him from finding his true path in life.

Those who loved him deeply knew the real Nick who was often lost in a fog of depression. They knew and loved his tender and generous heart, his natural talent for the guitar and music, his love and talent for artistry. He loved all animals, especially cats. His family and close friends admired his ability to see pain and empathize with others. He had a voracious appetite for reading and sharing his thoughts of a good book with those who had read the same material and had a natural ability to spin a tall tale like no one else could.

Nick was born on February 12, 1998 in Union Hospital at Dover and was a 2017 graduate of Tusky Valley High School and had earned his certificate in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) from Buckeye Career Center at New Philadelphia.

He leaves behind his parents, Donald “Curt” (companion, Diana) Dunn of North Canton, Stephanie (companion, Matt Mooney) Albright Dunn of New Philadelphia; his brothers, Dan Albright and Jackson Dunn of New Philadelphia and Oscar Dunn of North Canton; his grandpa, Donald Dunn of Dennison; grandma, Jerri (Steve) Stemple; grandpa, Jim (Deb) Albright; his great-grandma, Doris Leggett all of New Philadelphia; his uncle, Andy Albright and a cousin, Braydon Albright, along with his best friend, Bailee Boyd.

Nick was preceded in death by a grandma, Terry Dunn and his great-grandpa, Joe Leggett.

In keeping with the wishes of the family, a private celebration of Nick’s life will be held. Cremation care has been conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
