LaVaun Conrad

LaVaun Caroline Conrad, 87, of New Philadelphia, passed into the presence of the Lord on April 7, 2018 in New Dawn Healthcare Centre at Dover.

Born in Webster, South Dakota on August 4, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Mildred L. (Tourte) Wahl.

LaVaun graduated high school and continued her formal education at Canton Actual Business College. She worked at Scio Pottery, Empire Detroit, and Reeves Steel prior to her retirement.

On June 2, 1952, LaVaun married her late husband, Henry A. Conrad, who preceded her in passing on February 21, 2011. Together, they were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Karen.

Her faith was nurtured at Scio Methodist Church and most recently, Otterbein United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia.

She will be deeply missed by her family including her daughter, Karen (Todd) Miller of Dover; her grandchildren, Tiffany (Chuck) Zobel and Ryan (Kris) Howell; and her great-grandchildren, Bella and Ava Zobel and Cole, Naiya, Geovani, Zariah, and Sophie Howell; and her sister, Janice Ulrich of New Philadelphia.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 10 AM with Pastor Jon Long officiating. A reception at Otterbein United Methodist Church will immediately follow the service. Burial will be held in Conotton Cemetery on Thursday at 1 PM.
