Larry A. Bair

Larry A. Bair, 64, a loving husband, father, and United States Army veteran, passed away July 30, 2016 in Allegheny General Hospital at Pittsburgh following a battle with cancer.

Born in Dover on July 9, 1952 he was the son of Edith (Meldrum) Bair of New Philadelphia and the late Dale Bair.

Larry was devoted to his family and country. On August 23, 1971, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving 25 years. While serving, he had the opportunity to travel throughout the world which he greatly enjoyed.

Larry was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Carrollton and was also a member of Jerusalem Church. He could also be found attending car shows, riding motorcycles, building race cars and loved to collect unique classic cars.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Susan “Michelle” Bair of Jewett; his children, Martin Bair of Jewett and Erica Bair of Yuba City, California; his mother, Edith Bair; his sisters, Elaine (Bill) Johnson and Ann (James) Hootman, both of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Tristan, Elise, Seth, and Caleb; and special friends and neighbors, David McCombs, Sr. and his family; in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by his father Dale; and his brother, Ron Bair.

Pastor Brian Flood will officiate a graveside service on Friday at 4 pm in Jerusalem Church Cemetery.
