Kenneth Wayne Maurer, 75, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 while in the care of Community Hospice’s Truman House.
Born at Dover, Ohio on December 5, 1942, Ken was a son of the late Harland M. Maurer, Sr. and Helen D. Wayble Maurer.
Ken was a 1960 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and spent his working career with Shenango and Gradall, retiring in December of 2004.
On December 30, 1966, Ken married the former Patricia Ann Cargnel and shared in nearly 37 years of marriage prior to her passing on December 29, 2003.
Ken’s many passions in life included spending time with his grandchildren, sharing in meals at the former Dinolfo’s Restaurant, being an avid Corvette fan and spending time with members of the Corvette Club.
Ken leaves behind his family that includes his daughter, Kristi Arnold of Uhrichsville; two granddaughters, Brittney (Donald) Saunders of Dover and Samantha Arnold of Uhrichsville; two great-grandsons, Caden and Knox Saunders; a brother, Harland “Harley” (Ann) Maurer; two sisters, Sondra Pauline and Patricia Loibl all of Dover; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, private inurnment will take place in Dover Burial Park. Cremation care has been conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
Memorial contributions in Ken’s name may be directed to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
