Keith Clark Johnson, age 25, beloved son of Brian and Amy Johnson of Dover, passed away in his sleep on October 6, 2017. He was eagerly anticipating his departure later that day for the Ohio University Homecoming Weekend festivities.
Keith was born in Canton on February 25, 1992. In 2011, he graduated from Dover High School where he was an exceptional athlete, both in football and wrestling. He earned All-Ohio honors in both sports. He went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree at Ohio University and was a member of the Bobcats wrestling team.
Recently, Keith lived in Columbus and was employed by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

In addition to his parents, Brian and Amy, Keith will be deeply missed by his grandmother, Patty Johnson of Dover; his sisters, Melissa (James) Mitchell of New Philadelphia, Stacey Liggett of Uhrichsville, and Kristy (Lauren) Liggett of Georgia; his nieces and nephews, Bella and Beau Mitchell and Greenley, Owen, and Anderson Gebhardt; his aunts and uncles, Susie (Jody) Gardner of Tippecanoe, Jon (Debbie) Clark of Deersville, and Gary (Billie) Johnson of Canal Fulton; cousins, Joni (Greg) Tarbert, Lori (Jeremy) Huff, Michelle (Adam) Grandison, and Alex and Garrett Johnson; as well as numerous extended family members.
Keith was preceded in death by his grandparents, Keith R. Johnson, and John and Alice Clark.
A Memorial Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.

When Keith came to work with us at OSU we were very lucky. He was with us 6 months but it felt longer. He was already OSU family. He was quickly liked and accepted, just gelled with our team. He could make you laugh no matter how stressed you were, and was also kind and smart. I will miss him very much. As I write this I picture him laughing with Bill, and cherish the memory. I cannot imagine how heartbreaking this is for his family and I want you to know how very sorry I am. You are in my thoughts. Warmest thoughts go out to you all. Dawn

His wit, sense of humor and smiles will stay with me. My prayers go out to the family. I am grateful for knowing Keith. May you rest in peace.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Keith Johnson. Surly he will be missed in my book. Keith never failed to put a smile on my face, share a laugh, or a hardy chuckle with me. As much as others I am deeply saddened as well. But then I stop and think about the joy he brought and shared with me, and suddenly, my frown becomes a smile! You were a stellar coworker Keith and I salute with a happy remembrance.

Working with Keith's dad, Brian, quite a few years, he was observed usually as being reserved, quiet, a hard worker, polite and who minded his own business. As many know, as soon as the topic of Keith was raised in regards to sports, Brian lit up like an ESPN announcer, giving all of Keith's stats, high points, weaknesses and even predicting outcomes for future competitions. A more proud, supportive father would be difficult to find. I am certain that's why there are so many inspiring and encouraging comments herein about Keith. Brian and Amy raised and groomed a wonderful son for benefit of the people whom Keith came to know. Outstanding job, Brian and Amy! The world thanks you! We grieve his death, but celebrate his life. Wishing you strength and courage to carry on in your lives, Stan and Sandy Krawson & family.

My deepest sympathy to the Johnson family. Working with Keith in the OSU Admissions Department was such an honor and a pleasure. Although it was just six months, we were lucky to get to know him during his lifetime and his loss will be felt in our hearts forever. We admired his work ethic and determination, and more importantly we enjoyed his friendship and valued his funny youthful spirit that made working with him such a joy.
